Shanti Weiland’s latest poetry book, The Moon Is Your Mother, is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press. Her first book, Sister Nun, was the winner of the Negative Capability Press Book Competition, judged by Amy King. She recently wrote a book of poems about Star Trek: The Next Generation, and she hosts the web corner, Online Enlightenment.
Weiland received a BA in English from the University of California, Davis; an MA from Northern Arizona University; and a Ph.D. in Poetry from the University of Southern Mississippi. She lives in Birmingham with her wife and pets.
